About the Role

Taylor Kline Inc., is seeking an experienced commercial Carpenter/Foreman that has accountability for onsite carpentry activities as assigned by the Operations department. A Carpenter needs to ensure client satisfaction while meeting project objectives, including, but not limited to, the coordinate with the Superintendent on site and work with subcontractors and vendors, and adhere to all safety procedures, and quality control procedures, and reporting requirements.

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess prior experience, excellent communication skills, leadership skills, ability to schedule, multi-task and have strong problem-solving capabilities, with emphasis on knowledge across multiple trades regarding the most efficient sequence of installations.

  • Attention to Detail, Planning, Power Tools, Conceptual Skills, Basic Safety, Equipment Maintenance, Customer Service.

  • In addition to rough and finish carpentry responsibilities, experience in drywall, plumbing, electrical, trim carpentry, tile and concrete is a plus.

  • Candidate must supply their own hand and power tools.

  • Candidate must have a valid drivers license, and their own vehicle. A truck is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended.

  • Candidate must be willing to work 2nd and 3rd shifts. Many clients and projects require weekend and night work.

  • In addition to drug screening, candidates will also be asked to submit for security background clearance to gain access to our corporate clients work sites.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fabricates, constructs, and repairs structural woodwork and wood products by following blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions; using carpentry tools and equipment in a commercial construction environment.

  • Determines material requirements and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated by studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans.

  • Prepares layout by following carpentry procedures for fabrication of counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, and building framework and trim, using rule, framing square, and calipers.

  • Constructs, repairs, and installs structure or fixture by marking cutting and assembly lines on materials; shaping materials to measurements; assembling and fastening cut and shaped materials; using carpenter's hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.

  • Ensures construction quality by verifying trueness of structure with plumb bob, carpenter's level, and other measurements.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local building codes by adhering to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Conserves carpentry resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

  • Ensures operation of carpentry equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Provides carpentry information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintains continuity among teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
